HOW TO NAVIGATE OUR WEBSITES:

OnLine Africa Knowledge Foundation is a group of companies dedicated to leveraging the power of ICT to develop and support a critical mass of people of African descent seeking to engage in activities that will help them LEARN-2-EARN.

The core of our company is TRAINING. We established the OnLine Africa CyberAc@demy for Multimedia Studies 15 years ago to train a large cadre of visual communicators who have the capacity to help meet our clients’ escalating needs for quality images and films that enhance development, education and economic growth. Since 1998, we have trained hundreds of photographers, filmmakers and digital designers in Africa, the US and the Diaspora. The CyberAc@demy is now offering FREE ONLINE training to qualified groups of developers of lifelong learning products and information applications with whom we are collaborating. Our ICE Project (Interactive Cultural Exploration) and Foreign Field Study program expand knowledge horizons for students, teachers and librarians.

Our focus is on GROUPS OF INDIVIDUALS who can use our training as keys to a better future via engagement in our African Memory Programme (AMP). To reach and assist specific types of groups, AMP requires that participants either form or join one of our Communities of Practical Engagement (COPE) like those for women, teachers, designers, photographers, photojournalists, community researchers, writers and many more. They must then successfully complete our free media training programs. Unlike competing efforts, we provide our trainees with practical experience and mentoring to further strengthen their skills.

AFRICAN MEMORY is our research, content development and digital publishing venture that uses multimedia to “map” the African World to ensure a 2-way flow of ACCURATE and VALIDATED information about, for and by people from diverse cultures. AMP works in concert with GEO AFRICA and SIMBA (Sounds and Images for Multimedia and Books about Africa) that was founded in 1994 to function as a picture agency and experiential training organization for content developers and imagemakers. To ensure that voices of women are heard, we established DAWN (Determined African Women’s Network).

The Pan African Institute for Digital Media (PAIDM) was begun in 2012 to guide the development of visual communication courses for global organizations including UNESCO Centers of Excellence in Journalism Education, African Virtual University and the JK Nyerere e-Center Network for Good Governance through Media Studies.

We also established the OLAfrica Knowledge Hut, a marketplace where all things African can be purchased or marketed. The HUT supports communities of African Diaspora artists, craftspersons, content creators and engaged civic organizations.

Once you have explored the OnLine Africa Knowledge Foundation site and become familiar with what we do, we are confident you will find opportunities for you or for someone you know to benefit and profit financially from the Digital Information Revolution which is rapidly changing the way the world operates.
