MYTH: Africa is a hot and desolate place that has no modern cities, no culture or much else comparable to "Western civilization".

TRUTH: Africa is diverse in terms of climate; perhaps more diverse than some other continents (Yes, Africa is a continent that is composed of more than 50 separate countries. Each country has its own distinctclimactic zones and independent governments. To the contrary, Africa is full of good news, BUT, for seldom-mentioned reasons, the world's news media focuses on the negative. MYTH: African leaders are largely despotic leaders with selfish motives.

TRUTH: While far too many of them fall into that category, there are many more who do not. These leaders act with the best interests of their people at heart. Click here to find out who they are.

MYTH: Western nations have no responsibility to help African people recover the billions of dollars in cash and goods that Western governments, mercenaries and illegal land-grabbers helped them put away in European and American banks.

MYTH: Blood diamonds are a 20th century phenomenon.

TRUTH: The former colonialist powers looted Africa's natural resources by force, including murder. Yet, this term was never applied to them. It is a term that was created to point the finger of blame at Africans (yes, they used and continue to use these same cnturies-old abominable tactics) while deflecting accountability for the blood diamonds, gold, cobal, uranium, copper, etc. that the citizens of former colonial powers still enjoy.
